Coffee chat (3/3): Determining Effective Evaluation Methods for Conflict Focused Interpretation

This event is from 10:30 am to 11:30 am PT on November 5, 2026.

In our last coffee chat in the series, we’ll be ideating on what it looks like to conduct evaluation on effective engagement regarding human wildlife conflict and coexistence initiatives. These topics can be approached in a myriad of different ways, but which methods are effective, and do different groups need to be approached in different ways? We might not have the answers, but we encourage everyone to join in this discussion. Hosted by Sharon Spencer (Jacksonville Zoo & Botanical Gardens) and Lindsey Olimpio (Endangered Wolf Center), join others in discussing various approaches and how to effectively evaluate our interactions with the public on these complicated topics. Coffee chats are conversation-focused events – so please come prepared to chat, share ideas and/or resources, and contribute to the (respectful) discourse!

This coffee chat is the last of a three part series hosted by Sharon and Lindsey to address questions on the topic of fostering empathy for “scary” animals that came up during the 2026 Virtual Empathy Summit. All coffee chats in this series will be recorded.
